Abstract

According to the WHO classification of 1992, the dentigerous or follicular cyst is classified within the odontogenic development cysts. This originates in the evolution of a dental germ. The dental piece is usually in close relation with the cystic membrane, adhered to the amelocementary limit. The growth is slow and continuous. Radiographically, a radiolucent, defined and unilocular image is observed. It affects males more frequently and the proportion of patients from 6 to 7 years with dentigerous cysts is only 9.1 %
